Παρουσίαση του προγράμματος DigiOrch από τον Συντονιστή Έργου Καθ. Πέτρο Πατιά, ΤΑΤΜ ΑΠΘ, στο “16ο Συνέδριο Digital Approaches to Cartographic Heritage (ICA DACH)” που πραγματοποιήθηκε
στn Cluj-Napoca, Ρουμανία, 22-24 Σεπτεμβρίου 2022, σε συνεργασία με τη Σχολή Γεωγραφίας του Πανεπιστημίου Babeş–Bolyai, με την υποστήριξη της ομάδας MAGIC – Map & Geoinformation Curators Group.

 παρουσιάστηκε και δημοσιέυτηκε στα πρακτικά του συνεδρίου.

 

Περίληψη

The experience of attending live performances (e.g., a play, a concert, or a sporting event) nowadays has changed and continues to change at a rapid pace. Today, other audio-visual products are added and integrated to this expe- rience, and it is possible to enrich it with the digital media and devices we have at our disposal. For example, Augmented Reality (AR) applications are gaining ground either as standalone artistic creations or as part of per- formances, offering possibilities for immersion or even interaction at times.

As part of the DigiOrch research project, an Augmented Reality application is being developed which combines spatial as well as thematic information (i.e., the venue and the event), for a performance of the Τhessaloniki State Conservatory (ΚOΤΗ), such as the stage and the orchestra, the positions of the musicians etc. The project in- cludes, in addition to system development, the collection, the digitization and the processing of a large amount of data (websites, videos, animations, images, audio files, texts, 3D models, drawings, maps, etc.).

This application can be used in the future in other venues such as ancient theatres, monuments, historic sites, etc. and connect with other innovative technologies offering unique viewing experiences to users.
